restaurant booking for those with food allergies, made easy
Mission
To design a research-backed restaurant booking app that caters for users with food allergies, allowing them to feel confident in their decisions.
Research
After learning that 2.4 million UK adults live with food allergies, I knew it was a demographic I wanted to target with my restaurant booking app. Further research into competitors led me to find out about the very few apps that exist to assist those with food allergies in booking a restaurant table.
outcome
Foodini serves as an app that remembers, with an initial allergy input helping to structure the rest of the user journey. The app categorises allergen-free options nearby, providing users with a detailed menu that highlights what they can and can't order. Restaurants can be shared externally, allowing additional users to sympathise without having to directly download Foodini. The prototyped golden path concludes with the booking itself – date, time, and the option to pre-book meals.
